Your safety is our first priority. The motorcycles offered by Bikes Top End are large and powerful machines and are suitable for experienced riders. For this reason we do not allow inexperienced or unlicensed riders to rent our bikes.
License Requirements
To ride our bikes you must have a license appropriate to the size of the motorcycle. In the Northern Territory you can ride a motorcycle over 250cc if you have an unrestricted motorcycle (R Class) license.
If you are not from Australia, we will need to see your home or international motorcycle license and passport. The license needs to be appropriate for the size of the motorcycle, and needs to be in English. An international license will meet this requirement of you are from a non-English speaking country.
Road Rules
The rules of the road are there for your safety. Bikes Top End encourages all road users to ride responsibly and within the law. You will have much more fun if you arrive safely.
Safety Equipment
Bikes Top End encourages you to wear the best protective equipment you can. Ideally this will mean your own helmet and gloves, although we can supply these if required, for a small cost. We also encourage you to protect the rest of your body with proper jackets, long pants, boots or shoes, and eye protection. It is important in our climate to stay covered up to protect you from sunburn and dehydration as well as gravel rash from falls.
Pillion Passengers
Hirers with appropriate skills and experience may carry pillion passengers on our motorcycles. Northern Territory law permits fully licensed motorcyclists to carry one forward-facing pillion passenger sitting behind the rider, provided the bike is properly equipped and the pillion is wearing a helmet.
